Mr. McClain has represented a wide range of small- to medium-sized businesses from initial planning through formation, financing, mergers, and acquisitions to sale and liquidation. His clients are involved in a variety of business activities, both in Colorado and around the world, including manufacturing, equipment leasing, real estate, construction, pharmaceuticals, broadcast, technology research and development, banking and finance, and the arts and entertainment.
Mr. McClain regularly represents the owners of successful family-held and owner-managed businesses in connection with their financial exit strategies, from buy-sell agreements and succession plans through sale, merger, or other disposition. He works with financial and estate planners, accountants, and other professionals to plan and achieve client's objectives and minimize taxes.
With regard to real estate, Mr. McClain has advised and represented clients involved in land use matters such as zoning and planned unit developments, acquisition, development, leasing and sale of real estate, and the construction of a variety of real estate projects from industrial to commercial, retail shopping centers, and large-scale mountain resorts.
In the entertainment and intellectual property areas, Mr. McClain has successfully advised and represented clients involved in patent licensing transactions and litigation, trademark registration, licensing and litigation, and the optioning and sale of rights relating to books and motion pictures. |
